Kaali - Negative Emotion - Purpose

Vigna Ishwara - God of hurdles - Emotional Release

Why do we call him Vighneswhara? Is that something we worship the God who is creating problems or hurdles? Why should we pray such God? There is something called emotional release. This is the principal teaching of experience bliss through emotion in Kashmir Shaivism.  Abhinava Gupta studied the relation between emotion and aesthetic experience which transform the bhava into rasa. The inner transformation of negative emotion into state of bliss happens as if an ice cube turns into water when comes in contact with higher temperature. This is the Alchemy behind the transformation.
